Advising is the part of this job with the longest half-life. Over two decades at Stanford and Columbia I have worked with doctoral students in the learning sciences, computer science education, design, and educational technology, and their careers now reach considerably further than mine does — into faculty positions, research groups, companies, and ministries of education.
Former doctoral advisees and co-advisees, now leading research and teaching at universities and organizations worldwide.
Doctoral committees served as a reader and examiner at Columbia, New York University, and beyond.
Students interested in constructionism, maker education, tangible computing, AI, or learning analytics are encouraged to read about the lab and reach out.
