Mentoring

Advising is the part of this job with the longest half-life. Over two decades at Stanford and Columbia I have worked with doctoral students in the learning sciences, computer science education, design, and educational technology, and their careers now reach considerably further than mine does — into faculty positions, research groups, companies, and ministries of education.
